My Spooky Peach cosplay is a year old! šŸ‘‘šŸ˜ˆ This time last year—before the Plague Times—I was con-crunching HARD to complete this before @c2e2 and wound up hand-sewing snaps in my hotel room the night before I wore it. But I love it to bits nonetheless! šŸ’œ There were so many new challenges that had to be tackled to complete this (like first learning to work with resin), and while I don’t consider the garments themselves ā€œperfect,ā€ I think it’s pretty damn close! I am planning on fixing it and adding some final touches I didn’t have time to complete last year, and hoping to wear her once again to a convention soon 😭
Taking a break from working on the Midnight redo to focus on another costume remake: my Renaissance Faire witch āœØšŸ”® I’m making an Irish dress (though I know it’s not *entirely* historically accurate) simply for the fact that I can make it adjustable. My original witch costume outer layers—which are the best and the skirt—no longer fit me well as I made those long before gaining some quarantine pounds šŸ™ƒ So last year I decided that it might be a good idea to make something that could be adjustable depending on whatever my current body shape and size from year to year. Thus: the Irish dress. Since this is also a spiritual successor to my first costume, it’ll be made out of the same linen suiting as the previous one (I absolutely LOVE this material), and it’ll have more minute embroidery details that will be inspired by belladonna flowers šŸ„€ This weekend, I got together a bodice mock-up to see which size I’ll need and now that that’s determined, I’m gonna start cutting the outer layers and begin the long process of embroidering. Yay šŸ˜‘ This was a good tattoo recovery project, too.
✨And here she is✨ And also my thigh šŸ˜‚ I am beyond thrilled with how my Midnight tattoo turned out! She’s sooo gorgeous and I can’t get over it! I wouldn’t have this beautiful piece of it weren’t for my lovely friend @jaimel.botero designing it (it’s one of her pin designs and you need it), and @noodles_tattooer bringing her to life and adding some extra fun details to make her truly shine 🤩 I’ve been wanting a Midnight tattoo for a while now and she was so worth the wait, I’ll tell you what! I could go on and on but I’ll let her speak for herself. Eternal gratitudes to Jaime and Noodles! I’m just glad I get to carry her with me from now on ✨
