Halloween is right around the corner! Have you figured out what you’re going to be? Well, if you’re having a hard time deciding what to dress up as, here are 10 amazingly nerdy costume options to choose from. Which one will be your favorite?
Pacman Game
This can be adapted for a dress or a black t-shirt and jeans, but either way, it’s a pretty simple build. You can use fabric paint to make a more permanent outfit, or you can use craft foam, cut out the shapes, and then adhere them to your clothes. Either way, the process is fairly quick, cheap, and yields a great and wearable costume.
Rattatoulie
This is such a simple costume for any Disney fan to pull together. All you need are chef clothes, a stuffed Remy (or cutout of Remy), and a battery-operated LED light. Easy enough, right?
Ghostbusters Logo
Don’t let this example fool you: this can be a simple ensemble. Make the sign out of cardboard or foam core board, wear white sweats and gloves, and make a ghost mask. Wear the sign around your neck and strike a pose!
Mulder & Scully
Grab that suit out of your closet, print off some FBI badges, and get a red-haired wig, and start finding those aliens!
Scott Pilgrim/Ramona Flowers
This would be another great couples costume and would give you the liberty of wielding a guitar or giant mallet. Just use them responsibly.
Alice Stuck in the House (Alice in Wonderland)
If you want to put a fun, unique spin on the classic Alice getup, try recreating a moment from the story: giant Alice stuck in a house. You can make the house as elaborate as you want, and make the house out of cardboard for a budget-friendly accessory.
Peggy Carter
All you need is a blue suit, a white collared shirt, a red hat, and a kickass attitude. You can scour thrift shops to grab most of these pieces on the cheap.
Edgar Allen Poe & Raven
Cobble together some thrifted items, get some black feather and a mask, and a wig for Poe, and you’re good to go! This is a great couples costume for that last-minute party you got invited to.
404 Error
When all else fails, grab a white t-shirt and a Sharpie, and write a 404 message, because your costume cannot be found.
