Zainey Laney Wax January Box Preview | Star Wars

Hey there, Nerds! If you celebrate Christmas, I hope you had a wonderful holiday. I know I had a great time, and it made me exceptionally hopeful for the upcoming year. To help finish off the month, I have another Zainey Laney Wax box I am SUPER excited to share with you! If you love wax melts, and introducing nerdiness into your home, I can’t recommend this box enough.

But first, a little background on Zainey Laney Wax:

For those of you who have been around Nerd•ily for some time, you may know Laney from other collaborations and swaps. Her and her brother, Marshall, have been running their own subscription box service for several months, which feature wax melts with nerdy themes. I was selected once again as a PR Rep*, and I get the distinct pleasure to give you all a sneak peek at the latest box, which is Star Wars-themed!

The Box

Now, onto the box and what it entails!

The box is priced at $15, and includes four exclusive scents: “Destiny”, “Walking Carpet”, “Masters”, and “Smuggler’s Bride.” The wax comes in a clamshell that contains six cubes, so depending on your wax warmer, you can get anywhere between 3-6 consecutive uses out of one scent.

You’ll also receive one out of FOUR exclusive designs on a postcard, which contains information about each scent (the one I received will be depicted below).

This theme is currently available for pre-sale over at Zainey Laney’s shop, and is available until February 28th.

The Scents

“Destiny” is inspired by Rey, and has a peachy, fruity, and clean scent. It’s described as “Peach Margaritas and Rain.” I love this scent because of how fresh and clean it smells. I usually gravitate towards fruity, clean, and light scents, so this definitely fits the bill. As of the publication of this blog post, I have not placed this scent in my warmer quite yet, but I can’t wait until I do!

“Walking Carpet” is, of course, inspired by everyone’s favorite Wookie, Chewbacca! The scent is warm and inviting, with notes of cedar, apple, and cinnamon. On its own, you can definitely smell the cedar and cinnamon. I currently have this one in my warmer, but I can’t really smell it (I am a bit sniffly, and the room I placed it in is quite large). This would be a perfect scent, I think, in a smaller room like a restroom/powder room. I really enjoy this scent, and it’s perfect for this season.

“Masters” is perhaps my favorite scent in this box. It’s a blend of watermelon, sage, basil, and mint. This blend is reminiscent of Degoba, and it’s clean, refreshing, and irresistible.

“Smuggler’s Bride” is, of course, an homage to Princess Leia/Carrie Fischer, and features a fragrance of cinnamon rolls (love it) and fried ice cream. While this is a sweet scent, it’s not sickening whatsoever, and smells quite delicious. You get the impression of ice cream, fried batter, and cinnamon without being overwhelmed by sugar. I’m sure this one will melt exceptionally have have great scent throw.

The Review

Overall, this is the first box I’ve gotten from Zainey Laney where I love every scent in the box. I think, in fact, that this may be my favorite box I’ve gotten yet simply because it features scents that I like, and I know I will use each one.

While I do love this box, I wish I could’ve seen more of a scent range. There are two fruity scents and two cinnamon scents, and there’s only so many other notes you can add to main scents like those. However, don’t let this discourage you from getting the box. Also, I know for a fact that Zainey Laney’s website offers a whole host of scents and themes that you can peruse, so if you would like to add an additional scent to your box, I’m sure she’s got one that will either compliment the Star Wars scents, or suit your personal preferences.

In conclusion, I highly recommend this box. You get 4 scents for $15, and each scent provides 3-6 consecutive uses which, in my opinion, is a greater value than purchasing wax melts from Bath & Body Works (~$5 for one scent that yields 2 uses) and the Walmart brand. And these scents are unique! You’ll be hard-pressed to find a line of nerd-themed wax melts, especially ones that come in a subscription box format.

If you’re interested in purchasing this box, or one of the many other fragrances she offers, the. I highly encourage you to visit her website and help out this indie shop! The box—along with several other new products—is available for pre-sale now. For more information, I also recommend that you check out Laney’s channel, and her preview of the box—along with a giveaway!

Also, don’t forget to use code “NERDILY10” for 10% off, including this box!

Which scent do you like best? Will you check out Zainey Laney? Let me know down below!

Life was meant to be lived nerdily, so what are you waiting for?

*Note: as a PR Rep, I did receive this box for free in return for promotion of the product. However, I am doing this on my own volition, and am not receiving compensation for such acts.
