The Geek Gift Guide | What to Give This Holiday Season

Hey there, Nerds! I’m sorry for being away for so long. I’ve been working on, well, work, and some exciting things to come! But, while I’ve popped in and out of the blogosphere, I’ve been doing some shopping: Christmas shopping.

I’ve found some amazing goodies to share, so I figured I’d show you my results in this handy-dandy gift guide! All of the items are 100% geeky, and perfect for any nerd on your Nice List. Take a look to see what I’ve accumulated in my Geek Gift Guide!

Mini NES

For the holiday season, Nintendo has graced us with a truly magical gift: the NES Classic Edition. The original NES was the forefather for all of the game consoles that we enjoy today, and allowed us to play classics like Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, and Super Mario Bros. This itty-bitty version of the Nintendo Entertainment System comes pre-loaded with 30 games from the good ol’ days, and pretty inexpensive when you consider what’s out on the market today ($59.99 on Nintendo’s website).

So far, the NES Classic Edition has been selling out just about everywhere, but since it’s in high demand, it may just stick around long enough for you to get your hands on one. All I can say is…I WANT ONE.

Christmas Sweaters by DC Comics

Ugly sweaters are all the rage, but you may not want to take these off. Ever. has created the wonderful mash-up of DC Comics + ugly Christmas sweaters. And yet, in a weird way, they’re all so beautiful! I can’t decide between the Women’s Batman Cardigan or the Two-Face PulloverHow does one decide??

Choose from Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and villainous designs to delight–and possibly frighten–this holiday season!

Stranger Things-Inspired Gift Set

One of my favorite companies I recently discovered is Witch Baby Soap. If you saw my post about my favorite Halloween goodies, then you’re well aware of this fact. Well, not only do they have a Halloween line, but they also have a Christmas line! Among the scents of cranberries and amaretto, they have created a fun and festive Stranger Things-inspired gift set.

Included is a jar of air-whipped body butter, a bath bomb in the shape of a waffle, and an assortment of soaps in the shape of Christmas lights. And guess what? EVERYTHING IS EGGOS-SCENTED.

Unfortunately, the gift set sold out as soon as it hit their site, but hopefully they’ll make more because I have got to get my hands one one of these babies. But, take my word for it: try out one of their other holiday-themed products and experience the magic for yourselves.

Color Your Nerd-World

Adult Coloring Books are incredibly popular now (but, really, any coloring book is an adult coloring book if you put your mind to it). But, rather than fill in pictures of Hello Kitty or Paw Patrol, the powers that be have given us an outstanding range of coloring books that feature more complex designs, tighter lines, and full scenes from our favorite movies, TV shows, and artists. These coloring books are a nerd’s dream come true! I’m personally looking forward to the Star Trek: The Next Generation coloring book, which is currently available for pre-order on Amazon, but there is a huge range of themes and fandoms to choose from. There are Harry Potter coloring books that are creature and character specific, a Game of Thrones one, and even a Serenity, Sherlock, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer coloring book. Really, the sky’s the limit when it comes to these beauties.

Star Trek Clothing Line by Her Universe

For the 50th anniversary, geek girl clothing company Her Universe has unrolled a line that’s fit for Starfleet. This wonderfully nerdy collection features party attire, casual wear, and work-ready pieces for you to incorporate into every facet of your life. I’ve already purchased a blouse for myself because reasons. Some of my other favorites include the Uhura-inspired party dress, the faux-Tribble jacket, and the TNG mesh-top blouse. And it’s all size inclusive, so everyone can enjoy!

The collection is available exclusively on ThinkGeek, and if you pick up a few pieces, make sure you opt for the free pin set!

The Geeky Suit

Going with the clothing theme, the manly geeks can enjoy a bit of nerdom thanks to these awesome business suits, also by I found out about these suits in August, and I’ve been slightly crushing on them. I love a man in a nice suit, but a man in a geeky suit? Excuse me while I go cool down.

Choose to wear your fandom on your sleeve with a more discreet suit, or go all in and grab a set that makes you look like your favorite superhero! The suits are currently available for pre-order, but should be on their way by mid-November (basically, any day now).

Star Wars Clue

With this game, you can feel like you’re in a galaxy far, far away! Hasbro has released a Star Wars edition of the classic Clue game, but with a spacey twist. Instead of discovering who the murderer is, players must find the top-secret Death Star plans, figure out which planet Darth Vader wants to destroy next, and locate an escape vehicle.

Additionally, rather than play on a boring, flat surface, this game board is three-dimensional!  Players can also portray their favorite heroes thanks to game pieces shaped like Luke, Han, Leia, R2-D2 and C-3PO, and Chewbacca.

Pins, Pins, Pins!

Pins are all that, and you have got to add some swag to your denim jacket. Why not pick up one or twelve of these little beauties from sweetandlovely? This Etsy shop features handmade pieces like lapel pins, patches, and even 90s throwback kits! I was drawn to this shop for the abundance of Jurassic Park pins it carries, and since then I have to see what the new and exciting accessories are every day. My personal favorite is the “Clever Girl” lapel pin, which comes in a variety of colors. So, go ahead! Show your #NERDSWAG!
