YouTube pal April, a.k.a. Zombiieeninjja Beauty, is a super spooky lady in the best way possible. About a month ago, she proposed to all of us in the Geeks & Beauties community the idea of a horror movie tag. How could I pass up that opportunity? Though I’m not too big of a horror film fan (mainly because I’m a huge weenie), I do appreciate them. If I watch anything scary or spooky, it’s more than likely a show. But I couldn’t say no to a Halloween-themed tag. So, I’m going to try my best to fulfill this tag, and participate in the Halloween festivities! Check out Zombiiee’s picks, and send her some love by subscribing! Now, enter if you dare into the terror that is this Horror Movie Tag!
1) What is the first horror movie you remember watching?
I honestly can’t remember. I know I saw some sort of scary movie when I was a kid, but I can’t remember what it was. I must have blocked it out because I was so scared.
2) What is your favorite horror movie?
I’m weirdly into 80s horror movies and classic horror movies, so I love the original Halloween. Every time that comes on, I will watch it. I also like Hellraiser and Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors.
3) What is your favorite horror movie genre?
80s horror movies, classics like Dracula, The Invisible Man, The Mummy, and others, and anything with vampires and ghosts.
4) What genre scares you the most?
Anything that focuses on possession or exorcisms. For some reason, that freaks me out to no end. Also, zombies and apocalypse-related films scare the bejeezus out of me.
5) What is the last horror movie you watched that actually scared you?
I don’t watch horror movies on a regular basis (again, HUGE weenie), but there was an episode of Ghost Adventures that scared me so bad I started crying. This episode in particular was their Halloween special in Ireland. They got some horrifying footage that wrecked me for a few days.
6) Who is your ultimate scream queen?
Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween. She was REAL. Plus, she comes from a family that truly knows the horror movie genre.
7) What’s a concept that you would like to see in horror?
A film that stays away from classic horror movie tropes and stereotypes.
8) What’s your favorite on-screen kill?
Though definitely not my favorite, I vividly remember catching Idle Hands on TV one time when I was younger, and watching this scene where the main character shoves a knitting needle through his friend’s head from ear-to-ear. That one is always memorable.
9) What’s your favorite horror franchise?
As a collective, I appreciate the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. Plus, Will Smith did do that awesome rap about Freddy Kruger. If video games count, Five Nights at Freddy’s, oddly enough.
10) Who’s your favorite horror director?
Though I don’t have a particular horror movie director in mind, the closest I can come is to say the Duffer Brothers, who created Stranger Things. I love how they balance 70s and 80s nostalgia, sci-fi, humor, and horror in the series.
Now it’s your turn!

I’ve always loved horror movies! The only one that I’ve found STILL scares me is the original Exorcist. Absolutely unnerving and horrifying.
Great tag! Tis the season 🙂
