Welp, I dropped the ball on April’s edition, but I’m coming back strong from May! This particular month featured some of the most fun posts I’ve written–plus a kickass giveaway. Get ready, because we’re going to have a good time reminiscing today on Nerd∙ily’s Niceties!
Working two jobs, I have to walk a fine line when showing my nerdy side. At my retail job especially, that’s a tough task. I’ve had to dance around this constant internal battle to blow it out and rein in my nerdy tendencies. Luckily, I’ve found some solutions, so I figured I might as well share the wealth with you all! I will say, the male portion of this post proved to be most difficult, but I tried my best. Hopefully this guide helped someone who was in a similar jam as I.
Okay, true confessions time: I was beyond obsessed with this mobile game. I would spend HOURS waiting for my hearts to refill just so I could make another attempt at one level. JUST ONE LEVEL. I even appealed to some of my blog buddies, asking if any of them played so we could be friends in game. This is no joke. But, like most mobile gaming fads, the obsession dwindled over time. Now, I hardly play it anymore. But man, did I have a good time when I was playing it.
This year, I was able to attend Anime Central (or ACen). ACen was my very first anime convention, and it was also the first convention I went to where I did’t cosplay. I’m not going to lie, it was an adjustment. The culture is different–certainly not in a negative way–and the cosplays were so varied. But, nonetheless, I had a great time. I even had the chance to pick up some cool cat art to add to my bizarre collection (hey, to each their own).
A long time ago, after this blog was conceived, I was nominated for the Liebster Award. I was thrilled. Someone had actually noticed my blog! I love the premise of the Liebster Award because it connects us bloggers and helps us discover other similar blogs. Let’s face it: a nerd blog is nothing new. However, each admin brings something new to the genre, and seeing these differences are what delight me most. I also love seeing other cool blogs that aren’t in the nerdy realm. So, when I got nominated again, I got to spread the word to others about some of my favorite blogs that totes deserve some love. One thing that’s amazing about blogging is that there’s a strong, supportive community of people who know exactly what you’re going through, and they’re always helpful. I want to pay it forward to these awesome bloggers.
