A few days ago, alexcharming of Lord of the Trekkies nominated me for a Liebster Award! How nice is that? Thanks Alex! If you’re unfamiliar with this award, it’s a really cool honor that circulates around blogs. The premise of the Liebster Award is to promote, discover, and support fellow bloggers and all of their accomplishments. A nominated blogger will answer questions given to them by the person who mentioned them, pose some new questions, and nominate other bloggers. It’s all about building a better blogging community and getting to know your fellow bloggers. Here are the six main rules of the Liebster Award:
- Acknowledge (and link!) the blog who nominated you, and display the Liebster Award
- Answer 11 questions that the blogger gives you
- Give 11 random facts about yourself
- Nominate 11 blogs that you think are deserving of this award (bonus points if they have 20 followers or less!)
- Give the nominated bloggers 11 questions to answer
- Inform the nominated bloggers that they have recieved an award
Since this is my second time receiving the Liebster Award, I’m going to break the a few of the rules and focus more on nominating blogs and giving them some props! But I will answer Alex’s questions, of course!
1.) If you could go back in time, where would you go?
This is such a tough question, because I love so many different time periods. But, I’d have to say my top two would be the late Victorian era in England, and the 1940s.
2.) Why did you start blogging?
This blog came around as a term-long project for a class in college. The blog was originally called Nerdy by Nature, and it got me a good grade in the class 😛
I decided to keep up with it after the class ended because I loved researching, editing, and creating blog posts. I also love getting to know other bloggers and sharing ideas with them.
3.) Who, in your opinion, is the best actor ever? Why?
Alan Rickman. I think anyone who can play a villain and be loved by everyone is a phenomenal actor.
4.) What’s your favorite animal?
Also: corgis, otters, skunks, penguins, French bulldogs, lions, and bats.
5.) What’s your earliest memory?
Waking up one morning and picking my nose. (Hey, I was a kid.)
6.) Who’s your favorite artist? (Music, art, books, etc.)
Art: Vincent van Gogh
Books: Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Comics: Kelly Sue Deconnick
7.) Favorite emoji?
8.) What’s your favorite meme? (Include in the post)
9.) Is Khan from Star Trek: Into Darkness really evil? Why or why not?
Yes and no. I think Khan was a victim of a cruel injustice, and turned is anger and hatred into villainy. Thus, he lost sight of himself, and his judgement was clouded by his rage. Should he be upset? Yeah. Should he go around crushing skulls. Nah, bro.
10.) DC or Marvel? Which is better?
I get asked this a lot, and I never have a good answer for it. I would say that I read more Marvel titles, but I do have my absolute favorites from DC (Batgirl, for instance). I think both publishers bring a lot to the world of comics, and can’t really be compared because they pretty much have the same characters. Now, if we’re discussing cinematic universes, Marvel all the way.
11.) Best movie you’ve ever seen?
Big Fish comes to mind first. I adore that movie, and it makes me cry every time.
Now it’s time for the nominations!
