Sorry for the late arrival of this month’s 6 on 6! I had to work all day yesterday, and I barely got all of the pictures taken and edited. But, no matter! Today’s post will be a Saturday treat!
If you don’t know what 6 on 6 is, then listen up! 6 on 6 is a monthly photo challenge created by the Scruffy Little Nerd Herder. This photo challenge pushes us to take six of the best pictures possible that fit in a certain them, sharing them on the sixth day of each month. This month’s theme is green, so we can take pictures of anything that pertains to the color green. Normally, I have a hard time coming up with anything, but I actually could’ve kept going with all the green I own. So this month’s theme was exceptionally fun! Let me know if you can tell.
Every time any Potterhead sees my lanyard, I get the same disgusted look. “Oh, you’re a Slytherin?” Hey, no thank you. I don’t need that kind of negativity. As a matter of fact, I don’t actually k ow which house I belong to. Every quiz I’ve taken has yielded different results, so I’m unclear of my actual house. Instead of taking another quiz, I actually chose Slytherin as my house. Here’s why: Snape. Snape has always been my favorite character, especially Alan Rickman’s portrayal. So, I choose to be a Slytherin because he was as well.
Just so you know, you’re going to be seeing a lot of Loki in this post. Here’s another example. This shirt was the first product I bought from Jordandené. I love the rich, hunter green and gold combination, and the scrolling letters across the shirt. There’s no doubt about Loki’s knack for style. And Jordan’s, of course.
My friend and longtime college roommate, Kaitlyn, made this for me as a Christmas gift out last year in school. She hand-painted this piece, and emblazoned it with my favorite quote. I rediscovered I had this when I completed a deep clean of my bedroom, and instantly hung it up on the wall. I love yellow and green together, and the card she took in making it.
If you couldn’t tell, I love mint and sea foam green. It’s in the logo here, the watermarks, and in several featured images—including the one for this post. I don’t know why, but I really enjoy these colors (as you can see). From left to right: my planner, a handmade lace handkerchief from Brussels, a cute pair of earrings, a postcard I picked up in Salem, MA, and a button I received as my prize after opening a Christmas cracker I got in England. The sad part? After I snapped this picture, I found more mint/sea foam green items, including my bedroom walls.
This backpack has been with me pretty much everywhere. I got it before going to England, took it to Belgium, Ireland, and Massachusetts. It’s spacious and distributes the weight well. Plus, it’s theft and pickpocket-proof. And it’s cute, to boot.
Okay, last Loki thing! These two cat prints, one of the Trickster and one of the Joker, were made by Jenny Parks. She is the preeminent nerdy cat artist, and I own several of her pieces already. These two were added to my cat collection at this year’s C2E2, along with a kitty Data and Matt the Radar Technician. Neither of them are green, though, so these guys get the spotlight.
That’s that! Who said it ain’t easy being green? This is my favorite month so far, and I hope you enjoyed it as well! Don’t forget to check out Scruffy Little Nerd Herder, and learn more about 6 on 6. And remember: sharing is caring. If you like this post, then spread the love!
