The Lowdown

If you frequently read the posts around here, you’ve probably noticed how sparse my presence has been. This is not due to a lost in interest, or that the spirit of blogging is gone; things have just gotten a lot more complicated at the moment. I don’t like to bring in my personal turmoils into this space a lot, but I’ll break it down to you. Maybe it will help.

At the moment, I work two part-time jobs. While I’m thankful for having the means to make money, in this day and age, it’s not enough. Because I’m working the part-time grind, I get extremely tired fast. I also get very, very lazy. Also, because I work a set schedule throughout the week, I have little free time to go out and enjoy the things I love, such as blogging. Most of my favorite activities have to be planned in advance, and I have to request off time to do the things I love. This means less money to do these activities. Some activities don’t require so much time, but I still have to plan accordingly. Otherwise, I spend another night at home, wondering if I should go to bed early or wait for that second wind to arrive. And, truthfully: I hate working two jobs. There is a lot of anger and resentment I have towards the circumstances behind this part-time grind, but I’m not going to get into that.

For months, I have been trying to remedy my situation by searching for full-time positions. This takes up much of my free time. Job searching is frustrating, but I’m hoping that eventually I will have a breakthrough. But after nearly a year of fruitless hunting, the process becomes a little discouraging.

So, for the moment, I ask for patience. There are exciting events planned for the blog (such as the approach of the 200 follower milestone), but they’ll come in due time. I’m also debating on a schedule change for the blog to adapt to my lifestyle. We’ll see, I suppose. But thank you to those who always read, comment, and like what I publish here. I’m going to try to be a better admin to ensure the future of Nerd•ily, but this isn’t possible without you all.

Until next time, Nerds.

Life was meant to be lived nerdily, so what are you waiting for?
