6 on 6: April

Welcome back to 6 on 6! This month’s prompt is “silver,” which proved to be more of a challenge than I expected. But, it actually turned out to be a lot of fun to fulfill the prompt! If you don’t know what 6 on 6 is, check out the details over on Scruffy-Little Nerd Herder‘s site. It’s a great monthly challenge—and I use that term “challenge” very lightly.

Here goes nothing:

One of my favorite necklaces to wear is this Loki-inspired piece I found on Etsy (from byAmandaJane). I bought this as a graduation present to myself, and I wear it when I need that extra little push. The simple design of the necklace makes it compatible with many OOTDs, and that’s a plus in my book!

My collection of silver craft supplies, complete with the chaos that sits behind them. I actually haven’t been crafting much lately since I have been so busy, but I’ll get back on the horse soon enough. My next project might be completing that chain maille necklace kit.

One of my favorite pictures is this lovely snapshot of my grandma. She was about 20-years-old in this moment, and looks super glamorous. I’m a sucker for vintage, what can I say? It’s also interesting for me to see my grandma in this way, because I’ve only known her for a portion of her life. This gives me a glimpse into the young woman my grandma once was.

Speaking of nostalgia, here’s a piece of history from my theatrical past. I actually did about eight years of theater when I was younger–all the way up through high school. To commemorate my roles, my mom started a special charm bracelet. She would give me one after a show had finished, which I would add to the bracelet. I ran out of room quite fast, but I still love this bracelet, and what it represents.

Welcome to the coincidental collection of hand shots! The first one is this nail polish design I recently did. I wanted to try something different, so I went with a lovely seafoam green (“Mermaid’s Tears”) and silver combination (“Birthday Girl”).

And now Part Two of my hand shot series. I’m not trying to show off my nails again, I promise. The claddagh ring was a gift from my mom that I received when we were in Dublin. We found a silver jewelry stand in Grafton Street, where we discovered all of the pretty things it possessed. The claddagh ring is an old-timey Facebook relationship status symbol; the ring was originally worn by women to show whether they were single, dating, engaged, or married. The diection of the heart, and which hand the ring is worn on, signals the status of the woman’s love life. I had been wanting one for a long time, and I finally was able to get one in the country where it originated!

Hopefully you enjoyed this photo spread for April’s 6 on 6! If you’re interested in participating, I highly recommend checking on Scruffy-Little Nerd Herder’s site for details. In the mean time, why not share with me your favorite silver thingy on social media? Remember that sharing is caring, and if you like this post, then share it with your friends! Until next time, Nerds!

Life was meant to be lived nerdily, so what are you waiting for?
