Nerd•ily’s Niceties of January

Before I begin, I would like to apologize for my absence. My two jobs have been killing me recently, and I’ve been struggling for content. I love blogging, but sometimes I get into slumps. But, I do have some amazing ideas for the upcoming weeks, and I’m so excited to share them with you!

So, without further ado, here are my picks for January:

Sherlock’s Earl Grey Scones

My first attempt at scones started with a quest for the perfect Earl Grey tea-based recipe. I was also off the Sherlock high that only comes about once every five years. These scones were made partially to celebrate, and partially because I needed a quick breakfast for the mornings. For my first attempt, I think they turned out okay!

Happy Blogiversary, Nerd•ily!

January was an exciting month for the site. Nerd•ily celebrated its first blogiversary! I never expected this site to go as far as it has, but it was a proud moment to recognize a year’s worth of growth and development.

Hold on to Your Heroes

While January was an exciting month for the blog, it was also a depressing month–especially during one dark week. We lost two of the most talented people in this world, and it was a hard fact to accept. It’s still a tough pill to swallow. But, David Bowie and Alan Rickman will always be my heroes; I am never letting go of that.

The X-Files through Virgin Eyes: My Reaction to the New Season

Yes, yes, yes, it’s true: I was an X-Files virgin. And, in a bizarre twist, I haven’t kept up with this new season. Hey, it counts as trying if you’ve at least got the episodes recorded on the DVR. However, it was an interesting episode to see, even if I have no clue what’s going on the rest of the season.

There you have it! Did you have a favorite post from January? Did you do anything exciting in January?

Have a great Friday, Nerds!

Life was meant to be lived nerdily, so what are you waiting for?

Nonono, don’t apologize. If you start that nonsense I’ll be obligated to say similar things when I force myself to adult and blah.

Also, I got your card today and my mind is blown completely out of the water that you (or, y’know, ANYONE) would care so much to send me a few words of encouragement. Like, you bought a CARD and a STAMP and wrote WORDS and saved my ADDRESS from your giveaway andandand I don’t even have words right now. You totally made my day a lot better ❤
