Hey Girl, Make Some Valentines (Moderate)

If you’ve been around long enough, maybe you caught my nerdy Christmas card tutorial. These cards are easy to make, and infinitely customizable. So customizable, in fact, that I implemented the same techniques to make some special nerdy valentines I dubbed “Man-o-grams.”

These valentines were made for an exchange with some fellow bloggers, which was hosted on the Geeks & Beauties community. I thought, “Who wouldn’t appreciate one of these geeky gents?”

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, I modeled these cards after the popular Ryan Gosling “Hey Girl” meme, filling them with silly and fandom-appropriate puns. One of my favorites is the one on the Captain America card: “Hey Girl, Let’s fondue.”
If you’re looking to make one-of-a-kind valentines for your friends and family, then check out the card-making tutorial, and customize as such.

For the cards, I found light and dark pink blank cards at Michaels. They were on clearance, so I scored them for $2 for each 10-pack. Then all I had to do was cut out the shape of the men, and adhere all the pieces together. For guys with a predominant color, I cut out an overall shape to serve as the backing for the rest of the pieces. That’s how I made Loki, Finn, Poe, and Batman. To make sure each piece is cut precisely, I recommend using a craft knife. This makes for an easier experience, especially when a small piece of cardstock needs to be cut out.

If you do make some nerdy valentines, don’t hesitate to share them with me on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram! Next week, I’ll share the valentines I received from my G & B friends! Until then, have a happy Valentine’s Day!

Life was meant to be lived nerdily, so what are you waiting for?
