The Beginner’s Guide to Comicbooking: January’s Pull List

Welcome back to the Beginner’s Guide! To kick off the January entry, I have FINALLY compiled a Pull List!

Please note that this list features continuing comic book chapters. Some synospes might contain spoilers.

DC Comics Bombshells #8 (DC Comics)–out now

Star Girl and Supergirl discover there’s someone special living in England after docking in the Thames with Mera. Meanwhile, far away in the Peloponnese, Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor encounter the nightmarish Tenebrae.

Fables: The Wolf Among Us #13 (Vertigo Comics)–January 13th

Bigby Wolf is closer than ever to finding the Crooked Man, the fiend who might be behind the deaths of two Fables. As long as he can keep himself alive, he might be able to save everyone else in Fabetown.

Batgirl #47 (DC Comics)–January 20th

With the stress of college, research projects, and being Burnside’s #1 vigilante, Barbara’s computer-like mind is beginning to slip. And, oh yeah, there’s a group of Japanese assassins that might be pissed off at her, but nbd.

Captain Marvel #1 (Marvel Comics)–January 20th

Carol Danvers is about to embark on her highest flying mission yet: to space! As the leader of the brand new Alpha Flight program, the Captain must be ready for anything, as her and the team protect Earth from otherworldly dangers. But is she up for the challenge?

Patsy Walker, a.k.a. HELLCAT! #2 (Marvel Comics)–January 20th

With no job, a new place, and a new idea, Patsy Walker has made it her mission to help destitute Inhumans. Her kind-hearted plan has now led her to the unthinkable: a retail job. How will this help? Guess we’ll have to find out!

Faith #1 (Valiant Comics)–January 27th

I saw this one in a Valiant Comics 2016 preview, and instantly became interested. A spin-off of the Harbinger series, Faith, also known as Zephyr, is a gifted “psiot.” In her debut comic, she will step out and attempt to prove herself as she dives deep into the mystery of an alien conspiracy.

Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur #3 (Marvel Comics)–January 27th

Lunella’s prehistoric troubles aren’t over yet! Now that the Killer Folk have discovered that she has their precious relic, will Devil Dinosaur be able to find his new BFF? Recommended reading if you enjoy a quirky story featuring a super genius and a precious T-Rex!

Okay, NOW I’m excited!

Most of this information came from Comic Geeks, a free app for smartphones. This app has changed the way I have shopped for comics. If you want a complete pull list, a collection organizer, and purchase price calculator, then I highly recommend this app. It’s so cool!

ALSO! If you would like to help out The Beginner’s Guide, please take a moment of your time to answer a survey about comic book storage solutions. Your answer is much appreciated! The survey can be found here.

I know nothing about this and I already have high standards for it. I hope it’s outstandingly well done and I can’t believe I have to WAIT for it.
