I don’t know how, but I was able to snag some products from the CoverGirl Star Wars collection. Though I haven’t found the nail polishes or eye shadow palettes yet, I was incredibly lucky to find the two shades of lipstick that I’ve been wanting.
Since these beauties released in early fall, they have been nearly impossible to find. Unless, that is, you’re willing to pay an arm and a leg for them.
Not only did I find them, I also had a coupon for them. Bonus points to me! So, I figured I’d give a little review of the products, and if I find more, I can tack those on as well.
Product 1: Lipstick Shade #70
I thought that this shade would have been more opaque, but it’s quite a lovely sheer sheen. It’s a very light bronze color with flecks of gold shimmer, and it sits on the lips nicely. Application is exceptionally smooth, and it’s an easy lipstick to layer. What I liked about this shade was it’s hint of coral, which plays almost like an undertone to the overall color. The first layer I added was subdued and natural; as I applied more, the color became more clear, but not overwhelming. The shade surprised me completely, and I wore it to work right away.
Product 2: Lipstick Shade #50
I’ve seen this one everywhere. I think it may be one of the more popular shades out there. I can see why: I normally don’t buy such a dark shade in lipstick, but I figured I’d step out of my comfort zone and grab it. This deep plum color is so popular this time of year, and I thought it would be nice to try. When I first applied it, the lipstick seemed to stick to certain places more than others. Because it is such a dark color, it became instantly visible in the natural crevices on my lips. So, I applied another layer, and another, and another. I thought that maybe my lips were a little too rough, so I removed the lipstick, actually exfoliated my lips, and re-applied.
The results were better, but it was still a little patchy. I’ve determined that this lipstick requires a matte base before application. I can’t figure out another way to get the color even. Also, when removing the lipstick, my lips were stained a bright magenta. This is fine, I’m not bothered by that, but it’s a pain to get off.
Otherwise, I do enjoy the shade. The color lasts a long time, and doesn’t wear away easily. I think it’s a complete departure from what I normally wear, and I love how it makes me feel slightly rebellious. I wore this to work as well and someone called me “stylish.” 10/10.
Overall:
I like the shades I picked out. They’re different, cool, and funky. I’m very happy I added them to my make-up collection, and I hope to obtain more.
I did buy a couple more items from the Star Wars collection, but they are not for me. They are for something veeeery special, which I’ll reveal soon enough! 🙂 Until then, stay classy, Padawans!
Life was meant to be lived nerdily, so what are you waiting for?

I got mine from Walmart, and I saw that they carry the line online. That’s the cheapest I’ve found any of the products.

I found mine at Walmart as well – hopefully I’ll start to see more colors and items for the collection soon.

I think I live in such a rural area that none of the stores around here carried them. Thanks for the review of the plum lipstick. I’ve never tried that color before either, but it’s calling to me.

Go for it! It’s a nice lipstick when you get used to it. I know Walmart has it on their website. That’s the cheapest I’ve seen it. Amazon has it, too, but it’s a $1 and change more.

I like #50! I wonder if the first shade would be good for layering over a pink to add a little shimmer.

That’s a good idea! I thought about that as well, but haven’t experimented with it, yet. I also thought something iridescent would be lovely as well.
