Since I’ve been doing all of this crafting lately, I finally got inspired to learn how to operate a sewing machine. But, I’m not quite there yet.
My mom is the seamstress of the family; she made me all of my costumes as a kid, she made me dresses and other clothes, and she is pretty handy with a sewing machine. So, now I’m waiting for her to teach me how to use it.
This is all in preparetion for a particular springtime event that happens in Chicago. Oh yes, I’m talking about C2E2.
I got inpired to make my own cosplay after getting so crafty this summer, because I think that it will not only be fun, but I’ll also get a chance to learn a new skill. So, I figured that as I learn more, the more crafts I’ll be able to complete. Then, you guys will have more content to enjoy! Plus, the more I learn, the more skills I’ll acquire to accomplish my goal of making my own cosplay. It’s a win-win!
I’ll be leaving the details about the cosplay and my plans for the cosplay–for later installments of my Adventures in Sewing. But, all I can say is that it will be an AWESOME cosplay. And if all goes well, I’ve got some pretty stellar plans for what to do with it at C2E2.
Besides this, be sure to look out for more crafty content here on the site. If you hit the menu at the top right corner, you’ll see one of three new categories to choose, called “Crafts.” That is going to be the #1 destination for all things that pertain to nerdy crafts. I’ve got some other projects in the works, and some of them are ideas that are not inspired by Pinterest. Hurray! So, if you’re ready for some new content–and, by the way, more videos–then stick around, folks!
